Ongoing Training Groups

Two models of Sandplay Therapy Training programs have evolved in ISTA to provide professionals with the theoretical, practical, and experiential learning required for ISTA and ISST membership.    Several teaching members of ISTA have adapted a relatively distributed model of Sandplay Therapy Training that follow the model of the original ISTA training program and offers  three year training programs.    The training through the Seminar Kibbutizim offers relatively intense two year programs.   At the time of this writing (Fall, 2011) there are four ongoing training groups: in Jerusalem (Porat and Meltzer); two in Tel Aviv (Steinhardt), and (Porat and Amity); and in Moshav Nir-Ysrael (Meltzer and Porat)..
This academic year (2011-2012) tentatively two new entry level Sandplay therapy training  groups are being planned:

  2. Opening Group in the Two Year Jungian Sandplay Therapy Training Program, School of Advanced Studies, Kibbutzim College of Education, Tel Aviv, Directed by the programs founder: Lenore Steinhardt, Every two years a new group of sandplay students is accepted. A new two-year group will begin in November 2011. The program accepts up to 16 students for each two- year program according to the requirements of ISST.

For both groups: students must do a personal sandplay process of at least 25 hours, and write two papers about a symbol or some phenomena of sandplay, in order to get their certificate of completion of the course.
