Hannah-Valeria a US-trained psychotherapist with 17 years of clinical experience with children, adults, families and couples. She is licensed as a psychotherapist and a clinical social worker in the state of New York. She is also a member of British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and Health and Care Professional Council in the UK. Hannah-Valeria is a Teaching Member of Israeli Sandplay Therapy Association and International Society for Sandplay Therapy. She completed her training in sandplay and became ISST Teaching Member in London prior to coming to Israel. Previous Chair of British and Irish Sandplay Society (BISS), she represented BISS to the Board of International Society for Sandplay Therapy. Hannah-Valeria taught sandplay as a part of sandplay training program in Britain, and she also worked with sandplay in Romania, Russia and Israel.
Hannah-Valeria is fully fluent in English, French and Russian.
Hannah-Valeria discovered her interest in mental and psychotherapy when she was studying psychology at the University of Chicago in 1995. Following her Master's degree from New York University, she qualified as a licensed psychotherapist in New York State and worked as a therapist and a supervisor in a psychiatric emergency room, an outpatient mental health clinic, a school and other therapeutic settings.
During her years of practice in New York, she completed a 3-year post-graduate program from the In-Service Institute in Mental Health and Psychotherapy. Over the last number of years, her continued professional development included neurophysiology of trauma and attachment, Narrative Therapy, Analytical Psychology and Jungian Sandplay Therapy, which she incorporates in my work. Parallel to her sandplay training she completed a one-year program of lectures in analytical psychology in London. Additionally, she attended various seminars at IGAP (Independent Group of Analytical Psychologists), which further enriched her understanding of Jungian theory. In addition to Sandplay therapy, she also offers art materials as a part of the therapeutic process.
Hannah-Valeria is originally from the Ukraine. Having lived in the US, UK, France, Ukraine and now Israel, she understands the importance of and is deeply committed to working with issues of cultural context and adaptation, immigration and identity.
Her practice is located in a central part of Jerusalem with an easy access to the other parts of the city via buses and light rail train.
